Houman Akhavan is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of GCheck, where he leads the company’s mission to transform background screening into an ethical, transparent compliance experience. With more than 25 years of experience building high-performance teams across retail, e-commerce, and technology, combined with active board service for publicly traded companies, Houman brings rare perspective on what organizations need to scale responsibly in complex regulatory environments.

As a Board Director for Outdoor Holding Company (NASDAQ: POWW) and CDON (CDON.ST), Houman has guided public companies through governance challenges, regulatory compliance, and strategic transformation. This boardroom experience informs GCheck’s approach: helping organizations navigate the increasingly complex landscape of employment compliance, risk management, and ethical hiring practices. Previously, Houman served as Chief Marketing Officer at CarParts.com and founded Growth Rocket, a digital marketing agency. He has also served on Google’s Retail Advisory Council.

Pat Hartonian serves as Chief Compliance Officer at GCheck, bringing extensive hands-on experience in employment background screening to ensure every check meets the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and fairness.

Before joining GCheck, Pat has 15 years of executive experience in the background screening industry where he developed deep expertise across criminal records research, employment and education verification, and FCRA compliance frameworks.

Pat holds an Advanced FCRA certificate from the PBSA, Generative AI and LLMs from AWS, and completed the CORe program from Harvard Business School Online. He brings strong capabilities in business strategy, compliance and operational growth to GCheck’s executive team.
